Rhassoul, also called Ghassoul clay, is a very gentle clay that comes from Morocco. It is a great clay for sensitive and combination skins.
Rhassoul clay has the ability to absorb oil and impurities from both the skin and the hair and contains higher percentages of silica and magnesium along with potassium and calcium, than other clays
Moroccan Rhassoul Clay can be combined with a vegetable oil or/and a hydrosol to detox your skin:
- If you have dry skin, use White Kaolin clay instead. Mix half a teaspoon of Jojoba oil with 2 teaspoons of Kaolin White clay, add water or rose hydrosol until obtaining a spreadable paste.
- If you have normal or sensitive skin, mix half a teaspoon of Jojoba oil with 2 teaspoons of Moroccan clay, add water or a hydrosol until obtaining a spreadable paste.
- If you have oily skin, use French Green clay instead. Mix half a teaspoon of Jojoba oil with 2 teaspoons of French Green clay, add water or lavender hydrosol until obtaining a spreadable paste.
Apply the mask once a week, avoiding eyes and lips areas.
Leave for 10 minutes and wash.
Apply a moisturising serum after.

Juls –
I use this clay fairly regularly as part of my skincare routine. It took me a few times to get the amount of water right when making a cleanser as it was trickier to work with than the white clay (but still not really that hard).
However my favourite way of using this clay is to make a mask for a once a week deep cleanse of my skin.
